Let's face it: With everything going on in the world right now, we could ALL use some positivity in our lives.
Over the past two years, Chico, California has faced the aftermath of a tragic wildfire, the impacts of a global pandemic, and then some.
And yet, there is so much to love about our beautiful Northern California city, and it's about time we celebrate that. Join us for "WE Are Chico," a week-long digital event celebrating Chico, California and all it has to offer. From July 31 to August 7, we invite you to share your uplifting videos, photos, and stories about why you love Chico.
Participating is simple...
From July 31 to August 7, share any of the following to this event page or to Instagram (don't forget to tag us at www.instagram.com/StandUpChico), and hastag #StandUpChico and #WeAreChico:
- Original photo or video of yourself and/or your family in Chico, with a verbal or written message about why you love our City
- A story of a person, business, or organization doing something positive for the City of Chico
- Photos of your favorite foods, restaurants, businesses, or physical spaces in Chico
- Chico's best kept secrets - what tourists and locals alike should know about what makes this an amazing place to live, work, and play in
- Art or landmarks that define our community, culture, and diversity
- Your favorite Chico activities, and/or your favorite people to do activities with
- The best places in Chico to take your kids and family members
Here are the ground rules:
- This event will serve as a space to positively connect, share gratitude for this City and the people in it, and remember what community means. All posts should be relevant to that mission.
- Bullying, negativity, scapegoating, trolling, and otherwise using this space to degrade our City will not be tolerated. Find somewhere else to spread that.
- When you post, be sure to use the hashtags #StandUpChico and #WeAreChico
- You may post multiple times throughout the week, but please refrain from sharing multiple posts in one sitting, or overloading the event with your posts. For good measure, pick your top three things to share, and post those over the week.
- We will moderate posts - we will not approve posts that don't align with the mission of this event as outlined above, and we will delete any abusive or counterproductive content.
Don't do social media? No problem! Email us your photo, video, and/or statement at hello@standupchico.com, and we will share it to the page for you!
