Enloe Reports Possible Rationing of Treatment due to COVID-19 Surge

COVID-19 cases are continuing to surge in Butte County and Enloe has a record number of cases. Enloe has noted they will likely have to start rationing one of the few available treatments:

“we have been utilizing monoclonal antibody (MAB) infusion treatments to successfully reduce the severity of symptoms and avoid hospitalizations in COVID-positive patients, both vaccinated and unvaccinated…

…This week we were notified that the Federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) assumed the role of allocating MAB infusion supplies. We have also been notified that rationing of this treatment is imminent and we may not receive the number of treatments we have requested.’

COVID-19 antibody treatment is likely to be rationed in coming weeks because of the surge in infections. Getting vaccinated remains the best way to prevent the spread of this disease and to ensure you don’t end up in the hospital if you have a breakthrough infection.

At this point, if you are not vaccinated, it’s not if you will get COVID, it’s when. And how many people you will infect before you realize you have it.

Talk to your doctor and get vaccinated today. The life you save may be your own.
