An attempt to privatize control of Butte Countyโ€™s Tuscan Aquifer is flying under the radar, and we need to make sure the community knows what is going on and speaks out on the issue.

An application to form a new California Water District, the Tuscan Water District, has been submitted by a special interest group to the Butte County Local Agency Formation Commission. The proposed district will be 102,327 acres, and one of the largest in the State of California. The region contains 3,136 parcels and 6,463 residents. The petitioners only needed 75 landowners (1% of the population) who represent 58,120 acres (57% of total acreage)

This issue comes before LAFCO on September first, so itโ€™s urgent the community opposes this water grab.
