In the relentless Chico City Council-directed push to get rid of the homeless by evicting them from any and every place they try to sleep or camp, Comanche Creek is the last stand. They have pushed people further out with each eviction, and they intend to get rid of them for good by evicting them from the last place within city limits that people have camped.

The incompetence of this council continues to amaze us - they would rather the city spend money defending lawsuits than on actual solutions, and have gone so far as to gaslight us by denying the existence of a shelter crisis, despite what we can all see with our own eyes.

Until we have a legal, sanctioned place for people to camp and a variety of shelter options, not to mention enough shelter for the people who need it, these evictions must be halted.

Chico PD already evicted those that were living in their vehicles in the parking lot (despite there not being one safe/legal place for people to park overnight in Chico) and locked it up, with the specific intention of preventing supporters from accessing the park or aiding campers.

Because of this, we are suggesting that people carpool, park on Meyers and walk to the Comanche Creek parking lot that opens onto Park Avenue. You can also enter from the Meyer's St. entrance and walk to the front from there. (See map below)

Bring a sign if you have one, but most importantly bring yourself and a friend (or two). It's best to arrive between 7 and 8 am, but come when you can...this will undoubtedly be going on throughout the day. And also, please ๐ฐ๐ž๐š๐ซ ๐š ๐ฆ๐š๐ฌ๐ค.

Please feel free to PM us through Facebook or email if you have questions and we will be happy to help in any way we can.

And finally, as with any protest, you should know your rights.
