Chico City Council Brown Act Violation

As many of you are already aware, a motion was brought forward and voted on at the last city council meeting to “direct staff to stop working on the BMX shelter concept, revisit other uses for CDBG funds, and rescind the shelter crisis declaration.”

Aside from the ridiculous gaslighting that prefaced this motion (Denlay announced there was no shelter crisis and therefore no need to work on shelter solutions or have a standing shelter crisis declaration) the motion was made in violation of the Brown Act. Not one thing included in that motion was agendized, nor was there opportunity for public comment.

We have sent a letter to the city demanding they cure and correct this matter.
