It’s time to get this recall done
𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠
Butte County redistricting is looking about as corrupt as we've ever seen it. Our local aquifer is being privatized. Our city remains embroiled in a lawsuit that will ultimately cost well over a million dollars, because the council chose to repeatedly violate people's civil rights.
𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. As I write, on this bitterly cold and rainy Sunday evening, hundreds of unhoused Chico citizens are being forced to weather the storm outdoors...again.
The time is right to get involved. We know it's been a long year, but 𝐰𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐟 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐚 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐.
We can accelerate positive change by replacing Andrew Coolidge and Sean Morgan in 2022 instead of 2024. Please make time to support the recall effort.
✅ 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 if you are a District 1 or District 5 resident. It only takes a few minutes and Chico Voters will bring the petition to you
✅ 𝐀𝐬𝐤 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧. If everyone who had already signed asked just a few others to sign the first petition would be ready to submit next week.
✅ 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 information about the recall
✅ 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 to walk a neighborhood and get signatures for a few hours
✅ 𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐄! While Chico Voters is working hard to ensure costs to the city are minimal by getting this on the June ballot, costs to the group add up quickly. Printing, publishing public notices, attorney's fees and more.
