Some good news!

The court has granted an emergency restraining order against the City of Chico, preventing them from clearing Comanche Creek of campers for now.

Cory Turner, along with many partners from Legal Services of Northern California have worked long and hard to make this happen.

For now campers are safe. Hopefully the council will stop denying there is a problem and work with the many providers ready to provide solutions, including a managed campground, safe parking and tiny homes.

We hope to see the council stop gaslighting the community about the shelter crisis (โ€œthere is no shelter crisis,โ€ they say, as if we canโ€™t see it with our own eyes)

You can read the ruling here.

UPDATE:

The City has responded to the filing. You can review their response here.
